Reminder for April 2012

You know by now what I am going to say.  I probably don't really have to post anything on Reminders.  I know you are getting the hang of it. So, just do what you should do. You might put a note on your Calendar. It just helps to make sure your computer is staying healthy.  Our computers are kind of like all of us.  If we get our shots, eat healthy, go and see our Doctors, get our check ups, we stay in better shape.
Well, at least most of the time.  Our computers, most of the time will not have problems, or at least as many, if we treat them right.

Folder Options

The quickest way to look at your Folder Options Box is to
Go to the Start Button --Lower left hand corner
Type in Folder Options- and it will appear at the top of the Search Box
Another Tip is if you do change some of the Options and you decide, you really didn't want to do that
Simple--just click on default. This will return the Folders the way they original were.

Adobe Flash Update

Adobe released a Flash update that includes an automatic-update option.
Adobe Flash Player update 11.2.202.228 also includes options to
"Notify me when updates are available" or "Never check for updates ( Not recommended)".
Also "Notify me when updates are available" I recommend this one.
Again when you download-- Look and see if there is anything that is already checked.  Ask yourself--do I really want that.  I never do, if you don't--just uncheck and then download.

Rudy's Tip---How to disable the Laptop Touch Pad

I have a laptop computer and use a Logitech Laser mouse instead of the laptop touch pad. How can I shut off the laptop touch pad?
That’s a great question… anyone who connects a mouse to their laptop knows how annoying it is when you’ve accidentally hit the touchpad while using the keyboard.
I do it all the time, and I’ve found that disabling it really makes my work go faster and keeps my frustration level low.
So the question still stands – how do you disable the touchpad mouse?
Well – as you might have guessed we’re going to need to get into the Control Panel of your system. (Start Button / Control Panel)
While every version of Windows seem to vary slightly, you’re looking to find the mouse settings – often found under Devices and Printers. (This could be buried under another heading like Hardware and Sound, but basically you’re searching Device settings.)
At any rate – icon or link – you’re looking to click on the mouse to open its properties dialog box.
Once there, you need to locate the settings for the touchpad mouse.
I found a separate tab for the settings related to the built-in touchpad mouse in my computer.

I found a very convenient setting – “Disable when external USB mouse is plugged in”
