Did you know in Window 7 there is a term called "Jump List".
"Recent Files", is same thing just a different name.
Rather than search files or Your Documents, just click on the Start button at the lower left hand side, then go up and position your cursor on a program that has an arrow out to the right hand side. Example position your cursor on Word and you will see everything you have created Recently. Simple. This take less time than trying run thru your whole documents. Thus the term "Jump List", you can jump right to the file.
Click on the Start button again and on the right of your listed Programs you should have a list that consists of Document, Pictures, Music, games, Computer, Network, Control Panel, Device and Printers, just to name a few. You also should have one called Recent Items. This will show all of the files that are Recent. This file has more than one program. Could be Word Files, Excel Files, One Note,.
